Finally, some news within AA I feel is worth posting. While trolling the TWL site today I stumbled upon something that set me back. Seal Team 6 (ST-6) that once dominated the Americas Army scene seems to have returned out of nowhere. I had heard rumors that one of the original members Gunhavok had been playing late night sessions of AA3 and was enjoying it but could have never imagined this team would make an almost full return. I honestly can't remember the original roster but I recognize many of the names. One can only speculate whether the infamous Medic[ + ] will return as well.
ST-6 stands out in history as one of the greatest AA teams of all time. When compared to the life of the game itself, their stay was brief, but their impact was carried on for years to follow because of their class and performance. Only the oldest of old school players have actually played against ST-6. I am one of those old school players. I distinctly remember being around 19-20 and going on the ST-6 vent all nervous and asking for a tryout. Though ST-6.karnifex never came about, (due to IceNine. forming and more importantly my lack of skill) I still admired them for a long time. I still remember the match they lost the TWL-I finals against x6 as we listened and maybe watched?? the shoutcast. The match was on SF CSAR and it ended when x6.fresh actually took the pilot while a ST-6 player was still alive. Something that would ring throughout the halls of AA forums for years to come. The other very memorable thought I have is when I believe Medic came up with a "Guardbooth Strat" for WCSE and actually won a round using it!
Hopefully the return of ST-6 is a good sign for the community. I'd like to see more of those old guys return. The guys that had class and actual talent are few and far between but we still see some of Red Dawn trolling the TWL-AA forums so its not that far fetched.
